It’s August 1st! What better way to welcome the month ahead with a quick snap of me and my little guy!
A bit of a rainy start, but I am excited to see what new adventures and opportunities arise over the next 31 days.
There's always room for a story …

It’s the last week of March, and this past weekend we enjoyed some well-above average temperatures. At one point, we hit 17.5C! Definitely spring-like weather.
To end off the Easter long weekend, we strolled through my favourite Durham Region park: Greenwood Park in Ajax. It was quiet, and golden and green.
And here we are, piggy backing into the sun! 🙂
“The first real day of spring is like the first time a boy holds your hand. A flood of skin-tingling warmth consumes you, and everything shines with a fresh, colorful glow, making you forget that anything as cold and harsh as winter ever existed.” —Richelle E. Goodrich
Spring officially arrived at 11:30 p.m. EST, Saturday. Oh, how I am excited for new beginnings and jean jackets.
I’m a little tardy with this post, but happy 2016!
I hope you all had a nice holiday; I sure did. My Christmas Eve was filled with family, and as per tradition, a gift exchange with my cousin, Judy. It was a very Elf and One Direction-filled afternoon!
My Christmas and New Year’s was filled with warmth and lasting memories, including a HUGE surprise from my cousin – who came home from the Yukon for the holidays! (I will soon be there for a visit! Six weeks and counting)
And, I celebrated my 28th birthday last week at Cinderella: The Musical at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto. WAIT, though. That wasn’t the end of birthday celebrations; I had a intimate dinner with my friends at the beautiful Waterfront Bistro in Pickering.
So, here’s to the new year! I see great things on the horizon. Three incredible trips are planned: Yukon, Norway/Sweden, and Iceland, and I will find even more local adventure with the boy I met 13 years ago; the boy who has come back into my life in the most unexpected way. I’m looking forward to what this year will bring.
I adore Archie comics and MAC Cosmetics. So, imagine my surprise when the makeup company released Archie-inspired lip glosses, mascaras, and nail polishes around Valentine’s Day. My heart nearly stopped. Did I mention I’m also a sucker for limited edition lines? I usually want to buy up everything – classic compulsive spender, I suppose. But you know what, I am really pleased with these particular purchases. I love, love the “Pep Pep Pep” nail colour, and I also bought two lip glosses (Betty’s Summer Sweetheart and Veronica’s Feelin’ So Good), and the little coin purse.
One thing I will say about MAC, despite their high prices, it’s actually really great quality. Archie’s Girls by MAC has been my favourite limited edition line from MAC (so far), and I really hope they rerelease some of these products again – which they probably won’t.
NOTE: This post was first published in May 2013. It has since been updated with new photos.
I love MAC. And Archie comics.
