If you’re looking to save money and want to create a cute gift, my suggestion is a nail polish kit jar. It’s really simple.
First off, you’ll want to stop by the dollar store, pick up a clear jar, or reuse an old jam-like jar. Tie a ribbon around it, and decorate the outside. I’ve used a glitter stick-on letter, which I picked up for 50 cents at the local supermarket.
Next, grab a couple of your favourite nail polishes. I recommend Essie or Opi, both a bit pricey, but go on great. Although if it doesn’t fit your budget, Shoppers Drug Mart just released a new line of fantastic nail polish called Essence. I’ve used that brand quite a few times, and it goes on just as well for less than half the price!
To add variety, include nail files or toe dividers. I’ve added sparkly purple ones – they really pop! But don’t be afraid to have a colour scheme, and match your nail polishes to the accessories.
Once you’re finished packing the jar, I suggest wrapping it with white tissue paper, cellophane, and tie using a colourful ribbon.
Great idea and beautiful photo’s Emily!!
Thanks Richard! Hopefully, I can do some crafts which may appeal to you, and other male readers of this blog soon 🙂
This sounds like it would be a wonderful gift Emily… something you make is worth five times something bought… this post is kind of girly… but i like it….peter:)
Oh god, sometimes you do things and you are so glad that you did them, exhibit A, opening a link to “blog hop” my friend mailed me and, exhibit B, wandering to your blog from there.
I was going down your homepage and trying my best to decided which post to open (on my phone so can’t open them all), but when I saw the pics in this post l, I just left all my sanity behind, clicked and then smiled.
This post is so girly, quite and unflustered that I just had to fall in love!
In short, AMAZING BLOG!
P.S. thank god this isn’t twitter, imagine the word limit restriction horror! 0.0
haha Gull, that is too funny. I always have to go in short form for twitter, and then i look like I can’t spell. 🙂 I am *so* happy you enjoyed my blog. I just visited your blog, and I am going to spend some time this afternoon reading your posts!
I have been searching for cute blogs, actually. I found a couple I really liked, so when I picked a new theme and made a new logo, I took all that in mind. I think the response has been a pretty positive one!
