It’s been open for years now, but I only JUST visited the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto – as part of Scott’s birthday celebrations. We started off with dinner at Real Sports Bar and Grill, and took a five-minute walk over to the aquarium.
We went for around 8 p.m., for “Sharks After Dark” – an evening adventure around the aquarium. And it’s $5 less at night!
I knew it’d be fun, but I was not quite expecting it to be this well-done! With wall-to-wall aquariums over your head – you get to be right up close and personal with the sharks, turtles and stingray. What a unique experience for anyone visiting the city.

Wow, that photo of the jellyfish is beautiful!
thank u!!:)
This reminds me so much of the Aquarium in Atlanta, Emily, which I have visited several times since it opened, so I can imagine the thrill for you and Scott. Fabulous images!
I heard a lot of good things about the one in Atlanta… i should look it up, always adding to my bucket list 🙂
Some striking pictures here, Emily – nice to see you in them, too
Thank you! If there wasn’t as many people, we probably coulda got more shots …but i think what we managed, was good!
Happy Birthday Scott! What beautiful photos!
Thank you 🙂 Must go again soon 😉
Happy Birthday Scott! Looks like you both had a nice time. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

It was so wonderful 🙂 I really liked seeing the sharks … and i liked the tropical fish too…so many colours 🙂
These photos are amazing! I need to find/visit an aquarium near me.
You should, i really didnt think i’d enjoy it as much as i did!
Oh I love aquariums!! Can spend the whole day there easily!!!
Right? It is such a fun feeling … like you’re a kid again!
Thank you for calling by at my blog and saying hello.
This aquarium looks amazing. I love the contrast of the pink jellyfish against their blue background.
Such vibrant colours — it was easy to take a good photo 🙂
you had a lot of fun at Ripley’s Aquarium Emily… i love the shots from behind you looking through the glass at all of these wonderful things…
give your friend a big thanks for sharing them with us….peter:)
It was incredible, Peter … larger than life! I hope to go back again in the summer for my dad’s birthday!
I’m not sure why but I don’t visit the aquarium as often as I should. When I finally get there I always kick myself for not taking advantage of it. The Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in Toronto looks AMAZING Emily. Ohhh sharks after dark, now that sounds like fun. Love the pictures! Perfect date night.
I had only ever been to the Vancouver aquarium before, which was nice. But I must say, this one in Toronto — they went all out. Such a special time I had — i do plan to go back 🙂
A sweet set of shots with a little humour thrown in.
Always a little humour to make things fun 🙂
Aquariums – what’s left when all the reefs have died from acidification. The kelp reminds me of the fictionalised Monterey Bay Aquarium in a certain recent Pixar film.
loved the colours underwater, Emily. great shots.
Thank you! It was a photographer’s paradise in there!
great presentation Emily… i love all the different shades of colour in the aquariums ….peter:)
Thank you Peter 🙂 It was so much fun … I can’t wait to go back this summer!!
