It’s just past midnight. I waited up to see the snow fall; the first significant snowfall of the season. We’re expecting around 4 centimetres overnight. If this weather holds up, I’ll be out snapping photos of the town all day tomorrow!
A lot of people dread the white stuff, but I have come to love it. This time of year always brings back such great memories of sledding, building snowmen and making snow angels. Now that I’m older, it’s nights like these that I look forward to; the beauty of a late evening snow dusting. I hope you are all enjoying the sights, as well.
I just hope we get to see the same beauty here in the Netherlands one day soon, Emily. I LOVE the snow!
Thanks Ginnie! The snow came as quickly as it disappeared. But I still have another series of photos to share 🙂
In the first shot it looks as if the light is showering snow
That was my favourite shot!
I’d wait up to see the first big snowfall, too! I love snow! I wish I got to see it more often. Great photos too – love the B&W!! I really like your new blog design as well! It looks amazing!
Thanks so much Stephanie! I love this theme as well. I am going in a new direction with my blog. And I love that this theme displays the featured image so large! 🙂
Wow! Beautiful images Emily! Great work! 🙂
Why thank you 🙂
What beautiful pictures Emily!
No sign of snow, or even cold weather in England yet and I never thought I would say it, but I am missing the snow!

No sign yet?? Well I hope there is at least some Christmas decorations and lights up! 🙂
love the top shot! very gritty!
We got lots of snow the past weekend but now it’s melting away. There’s still a couple of months left of winter so I guess there will be more snow coming…
The weather here has been unpredictable. First we have flash freezings, now we have hit above seasonal temperatures. Just can’t figure out the weather patterns!
That is an absolutely beautiful set of images. I love your black and white conversion and how the snow makes everything seem magical and beautiful. I look forward to seeing more of you wintry images.
Thanks Martina. I love the snow, and any opportunity to shoot in it is always a sure thing for me!
Isn’t it amazing how the snow can transform a city? It really does make it a fantasy land…for a while. It adds some seasonal beauty that we would miss without it. However, reality hits when we can’t get around and have to shovel ourselves out. Oh well. 🙂
